Waimea Bay Haleiwa

One of the most famous beaches on Oahu is going to be Waimea Bay in Haleiwa. Unfortunately it is one of the hardest places to get an Uber or a Taxi to pick you up. Most drivers will not pick you up from the beaches of North Shore Oahu because your wet and full of sand. It has been even harder to get service to and from the this beach due to the road closure.

In March of 2026 the North Shore was pounded with a Kona Low Storm Cell and the ground was extremely saturated and flooded in and around Haleiwa and Waialua and Kahuku, We had a landslide around Waimea Bay that brought down large boulders and has since been under construction.

Most visitors are unaware how extremely dangerous it is to live on this island and how hard it is to get around. The north shore of Oahu is unlike anywhere else on mainland Oahu your not going to get on demand car or taxi service. Your best bet is to hire a car service to pick you up and drop you off so that you can actually relax on the beach.

We have unfortunately picked up hundreds of people who were essentially stranded because no one would pick them up when using the peer to peer rideshare app like Uber and Lyft. Be prepared and book with North Shore Transit when visiting Waimea Bay, Waimea Falls, or Toa Luau.
